Safety Policy & Participation Waiver

⚠️ Important Notice

By participating in any Fun Practice Toronto workshop, you are agreeing to the terms of this safety policy and liability waiver. Please read this document carefully before attending.

1. Workshop Safety Guidelines

Physical Safety

  • Participate at Your Own Level: Only engage in activities that feel safe and comfortable for your body
  • Communicate Limitations: Inform facilitators of any physical limitations or health concerns
  • Stay Hydrated: Water is provided; please drink regularly during activities
  • Proper Footwear: Wear comfortable, non-slip shoes suitable for movement
  • Medical Conditions: Inform us of any medical conditions that might affect participation

Emotional Safety

  • Consent-Based Participation: All activities are voluntary; you may opt out at any time
  • Respect Boundaries: Personal and physical boundaries of all participants must be respected
  • Safe Word Policy: "Pause" can be used by anyone to stop an activity immediately
  • No Judgment Zone: We maintain a supportive, non-judgmental environment
  • Confidentiality: What happens in the workshop stays in the workshop

Venue Safety

  • Emergency Exits: Familiarize yourself with emergency exit locations
  • First Aid: Basic first aid supplies are available; serious injuries will receive immediate medical attention
  • Allergies: Inform us of any food allergies before the event
  • Clean Environment: Venues are cleaned and sanitized before each workshop

2. Participant Responsibilities

As a workshop participant, you agree to:

  • Follow all safety guidelines and facilitator instructions
  • Respect the physical and emotional boundaries of other participants
  • Communicate any safety concerns immediately
  • Participate only in activities that feel safe for your current physical condition
  • Refrain from attending if you are feeling unwell
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding other participants' personal sharing

3. Health and Medical Considerations

Please consult with your healthcare provider before participating if you have:

  • Recent injuries or ongoing physical limitations
  • Heart conditions or cardiovascular concerns
  • Respiratory conditions that may be affected by physical activity
  • Mental health conditions that may be triggered by group activities
  • Any condition that requires special accommodation

4. COVID-19 and Illness Policy

  • Stay Home if Sick: Do not attend if you have any symptoms of illness
  • Ventilation: We ensure proper ventilation in all workshop spaces
  • Sanitization: Hand sanitizer is available throughout the venue
  • Flexible Policies: We adapt safety measures based on current health guidelines

5. LIABILITY WAIVER AND RELEASE

LEGAL WAIVER - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

BY PARTICIPATING IN FUN PRACTICE TORONTO WORKSHOPS, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in Fun Practice Toronto workshops involves physical movement, emotional expression, and group interaction that may carry inherent risks including, but not limited to, physical injury, emotional discomfort, or property damage.

Release of Liability

I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Fun Practice Toronto, its organizers, facilitators, volunteers, venue owners, and any affiliated parties from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury that may be sustained by me during participation in workshops or related activities.

Indemnification

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fun Practice Toronto and its representatives against any and all claims, suits, or actions of any kind whatsoever for liability, damages, compensation, or otherwise brought by me or anyone on my behalf.

Medical Treatment

I authorize Fun Practice Toronto representatives to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf if I am unable to do so, and I assume full responsibility for any medical costs incurred.

Photography and Media

I consent to the use of photographs, videos, or other media taken during workshops for promotional purposes, unless I specifically opt out in writing.

Voluntary Participation

I acknowledge that my participation is entirely voluntary and that I have read and understood this waiver in its entirety.

6. Emergency Procedures

  • Medical Emergency: Call 911 immediately; notify facilitators
  • Fire/Evacuation: Follow venue emergency procedures; meet at designated assembly point
  • Emotional Distress: Facilitators are trained in crisis support; additional resources available
  • Incident Reporting: All incidents will be documented and appropriate follow-up provided
